I'm Back!

Alexa, cue She's Back! Hi, everyone! I finally make my return back to the blog! I bet you've been wondering where I went (if you haven't, just pretend that you missed me;). Well, I'll be honest, the last couple of months have been a bit tumultuous. I fell into a pretty intense depressive episode at the end of March. It was the worst I've had in a while. The beginning of the year holds a lot of painful memories that I haven't exactly dealt with. I didn't realize just how much they affected me until now. I miss a few weeks of school and let the rest of my world crumble a bit. One day, I came out of my dissociative state and realized just how deep of a hole I was digging myself. I couldn't sabotage my life any longer. I worked hard to climb my way out in all aspects of my life. My teachers were very understanding of my situation (I got so lucky this semester) and let me make up most of the work I had missed. It was an undertaking, but I did it. And just when I thought I was back on my feet, my parents found out that I had yet to apply to transfer. To be fair, I was dragging to do it. There was a huge fight, and my parents decided to no longer help me financially. I knew I would have to pay for most of my schooling, but they had been helping me get my associate's degree. On top of this, they decided that I would have to pay for rent and other bills. I was forced to find a new job that would pay better. It was hard leaving my old job as they had supported me through a lot. I mean I had been there for three whole years. However, it was time to move on. Now, I am a legal assistant at a law firm near me. It's just administrative work, but it pays better and is one step closer to my goal of becoming a lawyer. I'm learning a whole lot. Also, I am getting my paralegal certification so I can do more complex work at the office (and hopefully get paid a little more). Then, I'll finish my associate's degree and transfer. It's not my ideal plan, but it's what I have to do. Anyway, that's all that's been going on in my life. Stay tuned for new posts on the way! I'm back and have got a lot to say!
